Owner + Motion Designer
2004 - Present
Ginkgo Synthesis is my freelance company that I've run off and on for 20 years. It's primarily been devoted to animation work for Broadcast, Digital Out of Home, Social builds, and Web (HTML5 banner animation). I also mix in some Illustration and Graphic Design work along the way. Mainly the work has been done by me, but when bigger projects hit, I expand things out to build a team with some of the incredibly talented folks I've had the privilege to work with over the years.

I went to school for this art stuff...really, I did. There were classrooms and grades and everything!
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration and Design
1996 - 2000
I focused primarily on Illustration, Design, and Animation in my time at KCAI, but also took every opportunity to expand out from there into electives in Sculpture, Fiber Arts, Ceramics, Painting, Photography, and more. Absolutely loved my time there, sponged up so much knowledge and skills, and more than anything it taught me how to teach myself so I never get stagnant in my career.
1992 - 1996
Ah, the halcyon days of High School! One of the highest GPAs in the school. Gifted and Talented classes all over the place. One of the youngest and shortest guys in my class. A total art geek who fixated on comic books. Team captain of the Badminton team (yes, this was a thing). Member of the Chess club. Gahd...I was...uhm...cool?
